Harry Potter
- The basic storyline visually involves Harry leaving home from platform
9 and 3/4on King's Cross Station to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
and Wizardry. This is a spooky old castle on a high cliftop in the
enchanted forest. He is assigned to Gryffindor House and eats in the
communal dining hall from long benches overseen by flaming griffin
torches and hanging banners. Wooden panelled and stone walls/features
abound. There is a shopping street in the village nearby called Dragons
Alley where amongst other things you can buy Wizards wands from Ollivanders
shop. Outside the school building is a large field on which the ancient
game of Quidditch is played.
- Here then is one version of this which would work as a party
- Guests arrive for reception on Platform 9 and 3/4 King's Cross Station.
Or if the numbers do not exceed 120 they can actually have reception
inside our 'train carriage'set. They can walk through the train carriage
walls, and as if by wizardy, be transported straight into the great
hall of Hogwarts. Large flaming torches illuminate the scene. Old
wooden panelled walling lines one side and is punctuated by doorways
marked with the names of the teachers (Prof. Plitwick, Madam Hooch,
Prof Dumbledore, Prof Quirrel etc). The enchanted forest (also another
possibility for reception) is to be found through the windows on the
opposite wall. Overhead are the school motto banners. Everyone dines
at long wooden tables. The stage set end is the masters stage complete
with large blackboard, gold lettered lists of former pupils and a
stone doorway through which the masters (your performers) enter.
